Here is the character combination that I percieve to be the most powerful to the extent of my knowledge. That of course does not mean it is the most powerful character to be created and I would love to hear whatever you think is the most powerful character combination.

NOTE: That I rarely play such characters and prefer roleplaying over any sort of powergaming as undoubtedly if your GM (Game Master) chooses he can do whatever he wants to your character. For example, George takes Thief and Multi-steal (as powers) alowing him to steal all items (if he rolls high enough) from all enemies without being noticed. Obviously this could be very powerful, but I'm sure the GM would not allow the character to steal all the items from the king and his royal guards in a single round.

Artificer, Jack of All Trades, Monkey!

This character combination would take the following powers, Power Suit (which Bob/bobij518 took), Ability to 'attempt' any power, 3 (doesn't have a name but is the third power in the Jack of All Trades class), Picked Up, and Hairy Ape.

He would take Shape Shift Humanoid power with his Power Suit allowing him to get a power from the shape shifter class that usually requires a cost of two power points just to get the class regardless of the stacking subtype rule.

He would roll on the Phase Shifter powers using his Picked Up power. Lets say he gets Mass Close Range Teleport. Again this alows him to get a power from a class that normally requires a cost of two power points just to get the class regardless of the stacking subtype rule.

His final stats would generally be what is written below:

Hp 27 (10 + Monkey + Power Suit.)

A.+4 D.(weapon damage)+2(or more depending what the rule changes are.)

Stealth +7

Physical Strength +7 (Power Suit and Hairy Ape.)

Perception +5

Jump +9

Climb +12 (Monkey.)

Sleight of Hand +7

Disable Device +7

Tree Swinging +12 (Monkey.)

Diplomacy +7

x2 carrying capacity/lift over head and +5 Intimadate (from Hairy Ape.).

(+2 Strength from Power Suit that has been applied to some of the skills above.)

(Also +2 (which has been applied to some of the above skills) to all other common skills because of his Jack of All Trades power.)

He can also Teleport, Shape Shift (humanoid), and use any power (at a 50% success rate) at will.

Added with a background power and some sweet equipment this character is pretty stacked.

If there is any parts that you do not understand how I could have possibly come up with (on this character) feel free to ask me and I will try to explain it. Who knows maybe I could have typed up something wrong or miscalculated certain parts.

Thank you very much for reading this post. I hope it has helped you in some way. Such as, "What on earth? This little piglet knows nothing. I could make a character ten times as powerful..."

Please let me know what character combination you think is the best!

Hey, Dragon Warrior!

You have a mighty fine character, there. I'm currently reworking the rules, so I just wanted to explain a few things better (I'll probably do the same in the new rules when they come out).

  1. Shape Change is very powerful, however, a power suit can be broken, lost, or destroyed. You probably don't wear it when you're sleeping either? This limits the power to some extent. You also can't get the other shape-changer powers like shape change smaller and shape change larger.
  2. The power in Jack of All Trades wasn't explained well. Sorry. I'll try to fix it in the new revision. As it stands it 'looks' like it lets you use any power in the game at 50%. However, it only lets you 'attempt' any power in the game at a base chance of 50%. Because it allows 'attempt' of powers and not 'the power' it actually falls under skill rules. Skill rules are always up to the GM to adjucate, so really, the GM could limit (or impose whatever RRs or limits or uses on the power) which he wants. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll have to fix that, it's confusing. ;)
  3. You're correct about the 'Picked Up' power. It is a really good ability. One of the best things about Jack of All Trades! However, it is a random roll, so there's no guarantee you'll get the power you want.
  4. Playing a Monkey gives you a lot of cool powers. However, you also have the disadvantage of being a monkey. ;)

Either way, it's a very cool character. Thanks for creating it, Dragon Warrior! I'm sorry I'm not posting up an ultimate character build like you asked. I currently have my hands full with trying to 'balance' the game. :P

I hope some other people share their great character ideas with you.

Best Regards,

Best Regards,

I have an invincible over-powered defence build..... how about a Skeleton/Ghost/Undead Henchman/Apprentice?

Racial Powers:

Immunities (Free)

Unkillable

Insubstantial

Class Powers:

That one non-named power that you have to have. (Free)

Beginner's Luck

Stay Alive

Take the Hit

The main focus of this build is to stay "insubstantial" the whole time and "Take the Hit" for your allies every time, so that way, while you completely negate the foe's attacks, your team can kill the enemies.

You can even do this without the insubstantial with no worry, because the first time you would die you go back to full health, and the next time it would happen you'd be saved by the "Stay Alive" ability..... and just add a bit of armor.......and I think you understand where this is going.

Ha ha, very nice Defensive David!

That's a pretty awesome character build. I can see it would be pretty lethal in a game situation. I'm actually currently rewriting the whole book to address some of the combinations which can be created like that. Originally, unkillable made you purely unkillable whatsoever, but I soon changed that. I am now finding that insubstantial is way overpowered.

I have a dryad/ghost in the group with the insubstantial power who somehow also has fly and invisibility. It doesn't ruin the game per sae, but it creates something of an invincible non-entity flying around and through walls. The dryad's player just loves that.

I also agree that the henchman is pretty overpowered defensively, but that also comes with the trade of of "only if you put yourself in the danger 9 times out of 10" you "must be someone's servant and do all the menial stuff" and with the limitation of a "nearyby ally or NPC" for jumping in front of an attack. The GM could interpret nearby how he or she likes.

Regardless, that's one pretty awesome character. Possibly the most powerful one I've seen in the game so far (and I've seen a number). Kudos! I bet that would be a pretty fun character to play in a game.

In the new revision I've weakened the insubstantial power considerably, but I'll have to take a second look at the henchman. That was one of my players' ideas so he might have tossed in some things which I hadn't thought much about. I'm sure he'll be tickled to know you're using his character class to be an ultimate defence king.

Ha ha, any stories with your character? I hope the GM didn't get too mad or chuck a chair out a window. That's a very cool character. Reminds me of the guy who got +32 seduction in the new rules (still being playtested) at 1st level and tried to romance all the trolls. Ugh.

I think your character beats the seduction one. After all, who wants a load of trolls in love with them?

Best Regards,
